By navigating the links above you can explore various types of content that will explore the architecture, the applications, the integration layer, and the process of developing the EJUS system
Marin County
justice applications are built using a variety of windows and web development
technology. The Darwin (DA) and PRISM (Probation) systems are client-server
applications coded in VB6. They use a three tier
architecture with data access and some business rule processing on the
middle (application server) tier.
These systems will be re-architected
and converted to VB.NET next year. Gideon is an object oriented multi-tier
system being built using VB.NET and has both client-server and web based
functionality. EJUS is a fully web-based object oriented system coded
in VB.NET.
It uses Application Center for network load balancing. All these systems use MS SQL Server
for data storage. Court case management is done on a mainframe CICS Cobol
system that is due to be replaced by the state-mandated CCMS V2 implementation
scheduled for late 2006.
Law enforcement processing will be done using
the CompuDyne (Tiburon) application. Integration
with these vendor systems will be accomplished using XML messaging through
BizTalk Server.
