National Family Caregiver Support Program
You might not think of yourself as a "caregiver". You might think you just happen to help out your elderly mother or father with a few chores, their finances or even a bath. With the implementation of the National Family Caregiver Support Program in Marin, there are services, such as information, assistance, counseling, support groups, training and respite care to support family caregivers.

Who is Eligible?
There is no income eligibility. The following groups are eligible for services:

Family Caregivers

any adult family member, or another individual, who is an informal provider of in-home and community care to an older individual (60 years of age and older);

Grandparents

grandparent or stepgrandparent of a child, or a relative of a child by blood or marriage, who is 60 years of age or older and caring for a child under the age of 18.

Employee Caregiver Survey
The Division of Aging, in collaboration with the Department of Human Resources and the Marin Child Care Commission recently coordinated a survey of all Marin County employees on their child and adult caregiving responsibilities and needs.
