Community Plans
Community Plans supplement the Countywide
Plan by focusing on a particular community or area. Community Plans contain
information and policies concerning land use, population and growth, transportation,
housing, jobs, environmental protection, and community facilities. Other issues
may be addressed depending on the circumstances in a particular community.
The policies and programs contained in a Community
Plan are intended to provide long-term guidance and stability in implementing
the goals of the plan. Community Plans may also impose restrictions on certain
activities and function as a zoning ordinance in these situations. Many Community
Plans have restrictions on residential second units, for example. There are
16 Community Plan areas in the County. Map

Community Plans are available for review or
purchase at the Community Development Agency Public Counter at the Civic Center.
Cost ranges from $7.00 to $15.00 per community plan. Information on related
supplemental documents and costs as well as mail order instructions is available
from the Document Library.
