Current Project Review Status: The application as of December 14, 2011, is scheduled for a Planning Commission workshop on December 19, 2011. The project has been determined to be complete for merits review but is incomplete for environmental review.
Project Description:
The applicants, HartMarin, on behalf of the property owners, Golden Gate Baptist Theological Seminary (GGBTS), are seeking Community Plan Amendment, Master Plan Amendment, and Tentative Map approvals to amend the GGBTS Master Plan and subdivide existing remainder parcels into 93 net new housing units (117 units total) on 37 new lots (not all of the units would be on separate parcels). Areas proposed for development are designated as Seminary Point, Seminary Knoll, Seminary Vista East, Seminary Vista West, and various other locations on the GGBTS campus, further described as: In Seminary Point, a 15.4 acre area in the southeastern portion of the campus, three dormitory buildings containing 24 units would be removed and replaced with 38 units on 36 parcels ranging from 0.1 acres to 9.53 acres. In Seminary Knoll, a 9.3 acre area in the northwestern corner of the campus, an existing maintenance building would be relocated, and 23 condominium townhouses and 12 faculty townhouses are proposed for a total of 35 units. In Seminary Vista East, 0.76 acres off Mission Drive, three single-family residences are proposed. In Seminary Vista West, 3.96 acres off Chapel Drive, eight residences are proposed. In the Golden Gate Baptist Theological Seminary Campus remaining area of 64.2 acres, 33 new student apartment units are proposed. A 16,000 square foot chapel is proposed in lieu of the 25,000 square foot chapel in the previously approved Master Plan.
