I am honored to have been appointed by the Governor to represent Southern Marin on the Board of Supervisors. As I make the transition into this exciting and challenging work, I want to communicate with the constituents of the Third District and tell you a little about myself, as well as seek your input. My aides, Leslie Alden and Maureen Parton, will continue to provide excellent constituent service and attend meetings in the community on behalf of this office. With their help and yours I expect this transition to be relatively seamless.
I am keenly aware of what makes Marin County special. I was born in San Francisco and in 1955 my family moved first to Mill Valley and then to Sausalito ten years later, a city I still call 'home'. We are fortunate here in Marin to have a shared commitment to environmental and economic sustainability, an extensive open space from the fields in West Marin to the Bay along our shores in Southern Marin, and dynamic educational and cultural opportunities. We are blessed.
Transit, housing, health services and public safety are all important issues in Marin. I have worked both at the local level as well as at the State level, and I plan to continue moving public policy forward that will not only improve our lives in the near future but will ensure a bright future for generations to come.
Please visit this page frequently, as there will be updates soon. You can email me at ksears@co.marin.ca.us or contact either of my aides to share your views and ideas, as well as concerns. I look forward to hearing from you and meeting you as I begin working on your behalf.
